Warehouse Laborer – Various Jobs
Venture Metals is looking for a full-time, General Laborer/ Warehouse Laborer.

Must be motivated, hardworking individual for our warehouse scrap facility.

Someone that can work by themselves and with coworkers. Must be respectful of company policy, attentive to work materials while making safety a priority. Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds and has general knowledge of tools. Work is outdoors. Forklift drivers preferred.

We will train you on the different grades of materials, operating scale and provide required PPE.

Scrap metal/waste experience is a plus.

  • Work is open climate warehouse and outdoor metal sorting and processing
  • Monday-Friday: 7:00am -5:00pm; Saturday: 7:00am – 12:00pm – frequent overtime given
  • Must pass drug screening and background check
  • Hourly Wage / Weekly Pay / Company Benefits – Health / Dental / Vision / 401k Match

Safety Manager
Venture Metals is looking for a full-time, Safety Manager.

Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability/productivity.  The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations, and actively supports health and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing health and safety plans/policies in the workplace according to legal guidelines and regulations with OSHA, DOT, and ISO
  • Preparing and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Evaluating practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Monitor compliance to polices and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
  • Advises management on safety concerns and preventative actions
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
  • Maintains Safety files and records
  • Assists and maintain environmental reports, Storm Water Permits
  • Assists in the development and upgrading safety programs, (ie, Safety Incentive program)
  • Plans and implements training for new employees in workplace safety

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and observation
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees and management
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Developing Relevant policies.
  • General Computer Skills
  • Desire to learn, and self-motivation

Work Availability:

  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance, that will be determined by management
  • Must be available and willing to work Saturdays, to meet business needs
  • Limited travel, that might result in overnight

Position is available for immediate hire-2 weeks out.

Corporate Commercial Buyer
Venture Metals is looking for a full time, Commercial Buyer working in the Trading/Marketing Department of a scrap company. Working in a professional work environment with a strong and growing company.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers, vendors and contractors to obtain price quotations, product availability, delivery schedules, and quality considerations
  • Responsible for all aspects of the purchase of raw material inputs including various types of scrap metal and copper units
  • Daily contact with suppliers and collaboration internally with logistics support staff and operations team
  • Assess market conditions to determine the best possible deal
  • Monitor order status to ensure supplies have arrived and traces delinquent orders
  • Notify vendors of order discrepancies and updates departments of materials status issues
  • Support the development of new supply chain and contractor sources
  • Manage price projects which support the goals of the site
  • Assist with material resources planning and maintains adequate inventory levels of stock
  • Use software to enter purchase orders and receive orders, and track maintenance history
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to focus on desired results and company initiatives and values
  • Adaptable to very fast-paced environment and perform in a deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience working in an office/warehouse environment
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Self-starter with ability to initiate searches or new customers and initiatives
  • Microsoft Suite knowledge is a MUST
  • Scrap metal/waste experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management required or equivalent work experience.
